    Antique Vintage Hand Painted Women's Folding Hand Fan
    I am unsure of age/era on this piece but we recently purchased several women's old folding fans from an auction and will be listing more over the next few days & weeks. We know very little about these fans or what they are made of but we will describe them the best we can. If you have any questions or information on them we would love to hear from you.
    This one does have damage to it and signs of age/use/wear.
    The ribs or slip is a pink peach color and there are some holes in it (Photo 1,3 & 4). The part of the fan that looks like an abstract animal print on the main side where the white flower is in the middle has an iridescent shine to it. It reminds me of a carnival glass shine. (Photos 4,9 & 11). The back side of the fan has butterflies, spider webs, dragon fly, & flowers. I am m not sure what the sticks or guard is made of. The sticks (the black pieces that attach to the ribs) I think might be made of wood and painted black. The guard on each side has damage. (see photos 6 & 7). The one side looks like it broke in half and it's been repaired with thread. The guard is ivory/cream color with brown floral, design which is fading. This may be made of plastic. The rivet at the bottom is securely fastened. (photo 8).
    Measures 7 7/8" long (when folded up).
    When it is open it measures 19 3/4" long. Weighs 2 ounce (prior to packaging)
    I can tell this one is quite old and delicate.
    We buy most of our pieces at auctions, flea markets & yard sales so we may not know the history of the item. We are not antique dealers, collectors or experts.  We describe the item along with any flaws and markings we can find the best we can.
